Around 1850, Mr Murat, a Parisian jeweller seeking to be elected as senator in Ardèche, set up a local company and asked the Legros family to manage it. Very soon the Legros family secured its independence and set up its own entities at St Martin de Valamas and Le Cheylard. The company inherited the initials and above all the talent of its founder because, over the years, the GL Group has never ceased to experience solid and durable growth, becoming one of the leaders on the European market for gold-plated and silver jewellery. The GL group is now chaired by the founder’s grandson: Pierre Legros. Today, the company is a major market player, specialising in the design, manufacture and distribution of gold-plated silver, gold and costume jewellery.
